1 person killed in single-car crash on I-15 ramp near Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — One person is dead after a car crashed from a freeway ramp near the Las Vegas Strip Thursday morning.

The collision was reported around 5:37 a.m. at the westbound Flamingo Road off-ramp for Interstate 15, said Trooper Ashlee Wellman with Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol.

Preliminary details indicate a Toyota Corolla was speeding when it crashed into a support pillar for a pedestrian bridge next to the ramp.

The only person inside was the driver, identified as a male adult.

It's unclear at this time if impairment is a factor, Wellman said.
