2 inmates serving time for Clark County offenses die in prison
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
Two inmates serving time for crimes committed in Clark County have died, according to a Nevada Department of Corrections news release.
Jeffery Hosmer, 46, was found unconscious in his cell Nov. 5 at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. He was serving a sentence of 156 to 390 months for possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and habitual criminal and had been incarcerated since Dec. 12, 2011. His death is being investigated as a suicide.
Demetrious Stewart, 48, died Tuesday at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. He had been serving a sentence of 240 months to life for sexual assault victim under 16 with two consecutive sentences pending for sexual assault victim under 16 and 240 months to life and 2 to 20 years for lewdness with a minor. He was committed in 2007.
