Two Las Vegas students will represent the Silver State on Broadway after winning the sixth annual Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards.

The Smith Center announced that Cole Duffy, who attends Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, and Ahnaleisa Hodges, from Centennial High School, received the awards for best actor and actress.

The event was held Sunday, May 13, at The Smith Center's Reynolds Hall, with solo and ensemble performances from the top 24 musical theater students from 14 high schools across the state.

Cole Duffy performed "Come to a Party" from Dogfight, while Ahnaleisa Hodges sang "All For You" from Seussical The Musical.

They will get a complimentary 10-day trip next month to New York City and compete on a Broadway stage in the national Jimmy Awards.

Gus Pappas from Silverado College Prep. & Career Technical High School and Grace Parker from Faith Lutheran High School received the Spotlight Award, and they will serve as alternates for the Jimmy Awards.
