42-year-old Palace Station casino gets $192M facelift

For about two years, construction crews have been seen working in and around Palace Station hotel and casino.

News 3 got a sneak peak Wednesday of what they’ve been working.

Changes you’ll most likely notice right away can be seen inside the property’s upgraded buffet. In addition to three new restaurants, Palace Station guests will be able to grab a bite at the buffet’s completely upgraded counters come late July. Expansion on the property is ongoing. Tables and chairs will be rolled in soon, line the rows up to the new food stations.

The hotel also has a brand new resort-style pool. The upgraded lounge area includes cabanas, lawn games, day beds and a raised bar.

Palace Station’s new amenities will begin rolling out over the next week, while different areas, including a movie theater, will continue opening throughout the rest of the year.

“She’s (Palace Station) just beautiful and I can’t wait for our guests to experience every aspect of it. The casino has been completely remodeled throughout and we continue to work on different areas and the amenities that our guests have been asking for,” said Palace Station VP and General Manager, Scott Nelson.

In all, $192 million in renovations can be seen on the property. The existing property has been expanded to 220,000 square feet.

The property first opened its doors in 1976.
