LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) — The Southern Nevada Traffic Safety Coalition announces its support for first-time DUI Offender Ignition Interlock Legislation.
Nevada state Sen. Mark Manendo will sponsor this bill when the Nevada Legislature convenes next month.

Research and data show a significant reduction in alcohol-related crashes in states that have passed first-offender ignition interlock laws. To date, 29 states are utilizing this measure.
The news conference included a demonstration of the interlock device by Debra Coffey, representing the Coalition of Ignition Interlock Manufacturers.
Law enforcement agencies, dignitaries, Nevada Office of Traffic Safety representatives from northern and southern Nevada, DUI victims and concerned citizens also attended.
