Air Force: Pilot ejects during crash landing at Lake Havasu airport

A pilot is in good condition after ejecting during an emergency landing Tuesday at Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport, U.S. Air Force officials said in a statement.

An F-16C assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing had been diverted during routine training and tried to land at the airport around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the statement from Luke Air Force Base, the aircraft went off the paved surface during landing, and the pilot had to eject.

The pilot was being transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, and there was no immediate word on whether any injuries were reported.

First responders are at the scene, according to the Air Force. No other details have been released.
