LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Progress on the Raiders Stadium is happening daily. The structure visibly starting to take shape. However, that's not the only transformation in the area.
If you look closely you'll see surrounding businesses, like hotels, are sprucing up. Many in the area are convinced the once primarily industrial, business park zone, will soon become a dining and entertainment haven.
Among them, the owners of SkinnyFats restaurant, whose flagship store is within a mile of the new stadium.
"This was considered the middle of nowhere. In fact, we would have people calling us, driving up and saying they couldn't find us but they could see us on Yelp," said Charity Faith, SkinnyFats Chief of Staff.
The venue is now undergoing major construction upgrades, including an expanded dining area and the addition of a tap room.
"So we’re going to have a total of 24 taps, 12 craft beers. We're also going to put some of our famous juices on tap," Faith said.
You can also bet there will be game-day specials.
Owners of SkinnyFats also hope to host watch parties for people who can't get to the games, but still, want to be close to the action. Well, at least within a mile. With visible evidence just down the street now, there's no mistaking, the Raiders are coming, and others are preparing the way.
