A bicyclist was struck and killed after being hit by a taxicab Tuesday night in the southeast Las Vegas valley.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 52-year-old Jesus Rivera. His official cause of death was blunt force injuries and the manner was ruled an accident.

The crash occurred just before 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of South Eastern Avenue and East Flamingo Road, according to Lt. Grant Rogers of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Lt. Gordon with the LVMPD says a man driving as taxicab was traveling in the right travel lane of westbound Flamingo approaching Eastern. A man on a bicycle was crossing Flamingo from the south to the north side. The bicyclist crossed in front of the taxi and was hit.

The bicyclist died at the scene.

The taxicab did not have any passengers and the driver was not impaired.
