'Blue Bucket Bandit' may face life in prison after pleading guilty to stealing cameras
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
Russell Fowler, 41, pleaded guilty Monday for a series of thefts last year that had police calling him the "blue bucket bandit."
Fowler reportedly stood on a blue bucket to steal security cameras from homes near West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Rampart Boulevard. Footage from those same cameras led to his identification and arrest in January.
Fowler was also connected to multiple package thefts in the area.
Fowler faces a judge for sentencing in April, and the thefts on their own would net Fowler one to ten years in prison.
However, Fowler has multiple previous convictions, and has been identified as a habitual offender. Because of this, Fowler faces an additional 20 years to life in prison.
