Suspicious package detonated safely near Blue Diamond, Valley View

UPDATE (6 p.m.)

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Bomb Squad personnel detonated the package and determined it was not a threat.

Crews cleared the scene after spending more than three hours investigating.

Units from the Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also responded to the scene.


The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a suspicious package near Blue Diamond and Valley View.

It was first reported to police around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say a customer left a package at a shipping store in the area and received information that its contents may be harmful. Bomb squad investigators were called in to examine the package as well.

The scene remains active while police investigate.
