    The City of Las Vegas will be hosting multiple events to honor the victims of the 1 October shooting last year:

    Las Vegas Portraits Project

    September 17 - October 19

    Clark County and the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center are hosting an exhibit of portraits of the 58 victims who lost their lives in the attack. The portraits were painted by artists from across the United States and around the world. The exhibit, called "The Las Vegas Portraits Project," will be located in the Rotunda Gallery on the first floor of the Clark County Government Center, Monday, Sept. 17 through Oct. 19.     How We Mourned: Selected Artifacts from the October 1 Memorials

    The Clark County Museum highlights the strength of our community by hosting a new temporary exhibit that features a selection of the items left at memorials that went up at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and other public spaces in the wake of 1 October. These tributes include flags, stuffed animals, rosaries, artificial flowers, signs, letters, banners, candles, art works, and a portion of a large Hawaiian lei that was left to promote world peace.     Country Love: Route 91 Anniversary Weekend brings together Route 91 survivors and the Las Vegas community at The Venue in downtown Las Vegas. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Give an Hour Nonprofit (www.giveanhour.org). Give an Hour is a national network of mental health care providers who agree to donate at least one hour a week to provide critical mental health services to at-risk populations that Give an Hour is currently serving.

    Dear Love: A Ceremony of Hope, Healing and Transformation

    Guardian Angel Cathedral will host Dear Love: A Ceremony of Hope, Healing and Transformation, an interfaith service on Sept. 30, 2018. The Cathedral will open at 4 p.m. and the service will begin at 5 p.m. Following the hour-long event, attendees will gather in the plaza in front of the Cathedral. That plaza area will be kept available until 7 p.m. for media interviews. The Cathedral will be open for regularly scheduled services on Sept. 30.

    1 October Sunrise Remembrance

    Clark County and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department host a sunrise remembrance with speakers, a choir, a multi-jurisdictional honor guard and more at the Clark County Government Center amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89155. Those in attendance also may view the Las Vegas Portraits Project, an exhibit of portraits of the 58 victims who lost their lives in the attack, along with crosses that were erected at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
