LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Clark County School District says it will join a pilot program that aims to bring personalized learning and assessment to classrooms.
The school district said Tuesday it will participate in MAP Accelerator, created by non-profit groups Khan Academy and NWEA to help schools and teachers "differentiate instruction for students with diverse academic needs."
According to a statement from CCSD, the platform helps teachers identify students who need extra support through MAP testing and create personalized instruction.
It will be used in limited release during the 2019-20 school year for math grades 3 through 8 in English and Spanish. English-language arts would be introduced with general availability the next year.
"The Clark County School District is thrilled to embark on this partnership with two of the best nonprofit organizations committed to equity and excellence with world-class assessment systems and personalized learning programs that improve the classroom experience for all students," Superintendent Jesus Jara said in a statement.
