Costco confirms opening of new store in Henderson
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
An empty lot now, but within a year the experts say the area near Saint Rose Parkway and Amigo Street will be bustling, and residents near the growing Inspirada development of Henderson are ready.
"We've been hearing about the Costco for over a year and we've been waiting," said one resident.
Now it's confirmed, A fifth Costco warehouse in Southern Nevada will break ground within months; the site already approved by the city.
In a statement to News 3, a Costco spokesperson wrote: "The location will open sometime next summer. We will accept applications approximately 3 months prior to opening".
Brian Sorrentino of ROI Commercial Real Estate said Costco will be the anchor tenant in a center called St. Rose Square.
"It just says that there are a whole bunch of folks in that market that aren't being serviced, which is a good thing that they've pulled the trigger because it's also going to have a bunch of other tenants following them to a center," said Sorrentino.
The 152-thousand square foot store will include a gas station. And nearly a dozen other stores will make up the rest of the development. But make no mistake, Costco will be the draw.
"Their vegetables are fresher than most of the produce we can get any place else. And the meat, we can buy it in bulk, and it's cheaper for us," said Henderson Resident Roxanne Crouch.
