Crews respond to house fire near Rampart, Summerlin Parkway (KSNV)

Crews have knocked down a two-alarm fire that sparked Wednesday morning at a Summerlin home, according to Las Vegas fire officials.

Firefighters responded to a two-story home on Waterfield Court, near Rampart Boulevard and Summerlin Parkway, on a report of a cabana on fire, said Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

Fire was both inside the room, outside the house and inside the attic, according to Fire & Rescue, and a second alarm was requested.

The agency says the fire was confined to the cabana, while the rest of the house had light to no damage.

Officials believe it might have started around a cooking area of the cabana.

Two people were asleep when the fire started. They heard the smoke alarm and found the downstairs area full of smoke before they escaped without injury.
