Detectives find $12 million worth of cocaine, meth during traffic stop south of Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) - The Bullhead City Police Department reports that the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) made a huge drug bust earlier this week.

On Thursday, Feb. 20, around 6:30 p.m., narcotics detectives with MAGNET were called to assist in the investigation of a suspected drug transportation on I-40, just west of Kingman, Arizona, located roughly 100 miles south of Las Vegas.

A traffic stop was conducted on the tractor trailer with help from K9 units from the Arizona Department of Safety and the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives found approximately 168 kilograms of cocaine and 220 pounds of methamphetamine. Together, these amounts have a combined street value of around $12.7 million.

Beyan Mohammed Beyan, 30, and Samatar Shafi Ahmed, 36, were arrested for transportation of dangerous drugs and narcotic drugs for sale.
