1:35 P.M. SATURDAY UPDATE: The two victims have been identified as Las Vegas residents Nehemiah Kauffman, 21, and Sydney Land, 21. Their official cause of death is pending completed autopsies, says the Clark County coroner.

The second day into the investigation of a double homicide at the Union Apartments near Hualapai and Flamingo is underway.

Metro police released findings on Friday that indicated a man and woman had been shot inside the residence on Thursday.

Detectives responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m. They say a friend that had not heard from the two victims for a couple of days went to check on them when he found them.

The victims, who are believed to be in their 20's, also appeared to have been dead for several hours before they were found.

Detectives suspect foul play and say this type of crime is unusual for this part of town.

Detectives are trying to determine a possible motive.

According to police, evidence at the scene suggests there may have been two adult male suspects but they have not yet been identified.

These are the 141st and 142nd homicides investigated by Metro in 2016.
