A man is dead after a shooting on Sunday night.
Around 8:40 p.m. officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 2600 block of Van Patten Street near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road to investigate reports of a shooting and a man possibly shot.
Arriving officers located an adult male lying on the ground outside one of the apartment buildings suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the Sunrise Trauma Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators say there was a group of people standing outside of the building and there was a verbal altercation.
At some point, a male suspect pulled out a gun and fired several rounds, striking the victim. The suspect was gone before officers arrived.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
