Kayla Payne, the murder victim’s sister, says her brother's death "was a pretty big shock."

Payne never thought her brother, Izaak Towery, would end up facing such a tragic fate.

"He's always on Facebook," said Payne. "He always talking to his friends, so it was around there that I said this isn't right."

Payne tells News 3, that her mother last saw Izaak on February 9. He had gone to a friend’s house to play video games.

"It was about ten minutes away," Payne said. "He walked that way all the time, and he was walking home, so around 10 p.m. on Friday the 9th --that was the last I heard from anything."

Izaak's mother never heard from her son again. Metro police say last week a hiker discovered Izaak's body near Kyle Canyon Road. Detectives say it appears the killer stabbed Izaak several times at a desolate spot.

"For me, I think the hardest part is that somebody just left him there," said Payne. "He was found so late."

Payne has no idea who would want to murder her brother. She remembers him having no enemies. Her wish is for the killer to be caught.

Payne said, "I just want to know who would do something like this. It's horrible just horrible."
