It's a life-changing experience no child should ever have to go through. Losing a brother, a sibling in the way Nelson Pacheco lost his.

“I want him to come back,” Nelson said.

It's even harder for April Jimenez, 10-year-old Zion Jimenez’s mother.

“I don't even know what to feel anymore. Like I feel angry, I feel hurt, I feel mad,” Jimenez said.

Little Zion tragically died in the hospital just days after being left in a burning car following a crash near Vegas Valley and Mountain Vista Street.

Police are still searching for Jonathan Mora, who's accused of driving the car Zion was in, crashing it, and then leaving.

“My question that I ask myself every day, every night from when I wake until I go to bed is why, what was going on in your head,” Jimenez said.

She says the night it happened, she knew something wasn't right.

“I had a feeling in my stomach, I didn't want him to leave I didn't want him to leave at all,” Jimenez said.

She never imagined it would be last time she'd see her son and kiss him goodbye.

“Bye mommy, God bless your heart I love you,” were the last words Jimenez said she heard from her son.

She tells me Zion appreciated all the little moments in life like going to school.

“What hurts my feelings because like he looked so forward to walking to school one day without me holding his hand,” Jimenez said.

It's now videos of little Zion dancing playing basketball and dreams she says the family will now forever cherish.

“I had a dream we were at the park like people were in a circle dancing,” Nelson said.

The family will hold a car wash Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. located at 4445 E Charleston Boulevard.

The family has set up GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses. To help donate, click here.
