Family says domestic violence victim yelled for help but no one responded

Family says Kimberly Johnson’s death may have been prevented if someone would have called police when she asked for help during domestic dispute

Police say domestic violence played a role in the death of Kimberly Johnson.

Family and friends say in the coming days they will hold another memorial in her hometown in Stockton, but for now, they will be in court seeking justice.

Detectives tell News 3 that Dion Stanley faces murder charges.

During the initial investigation, police say Stanley and Johnson were in a dating relationship.

Authorities believe Johnson died after falling down a stairwell at a local extended-stay hotel.

She cried out for help, but no one helped her until it was too late.

“This man was chasing her and no one helped her," said Alondra Holt, Johnson's cousin.

Stanley is expected back in court on Wednesday.

Johnson’s family is raising funds for her burial. If you want to help, click here.
