A fire damaged a vacant grocery just south of downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday, according to a fire department spokesman.

Crews were called just after 7:45 p.m. to the old White Cross Market in the 1700 block of S. Las Vegas Boulevard, between Sahara Avenue and Charleston Boulevard.

The fire started outside but spread to some of the building's exterior, said Tim Szymanski with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
