Flash Flood Watch in effect for Las Vegas valley

The National Weather Service reports that thunderstorms could continue to bring heavy rainfall to Southern Nevada on Thursday afternoon and night, potentially causing flash flooding in the area.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued to include portions of northwest Arizona and southern Nevada, including Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the Las Vegas valley, Southern Clark County, Northeast Clark County, Spring Mountains, Red Rock Canyon, and Western Clark and Southern Nye County.

The NWS urges residents to be wary of normally dry washes, low water crossings, and poorly drained intersections.
