A 65-year-old man who had been working as a substitute teacher has been arrested on three counts involving sexual acts with a student.

Randall L. Minyard, 65, was taken into custody Thursday at Sandy Searles Miller Elementary School, near East Lake Mead and North Nellis boulevards. He faces two counts of sexual act as an adult school employee with a pupil 16-17 years old; and one count of lewdness with a child under 14.

A Clark County School District spokesman said Minyard had worked as a substitute teacher at Miller Elementary since late January but was no longer employed by the district.

Minyard is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Wednesday at the Regional Justice Center.
