Friends say Cowboys vs. Packers game was the cause of the brother-on-brother deadly fight

We are learning new details about a brother-on-brother fight that turned deadly. Friends of the brothers say the Cowboys vs. Packers game sparked the argument. We are told that one of the brothers, who is a Cowboys fan, was not in a good mood.

Metro police say 40-year-old Justin Boyer and 46-year-old Robert Boyer got into the deadly argument on Sunday night, but before that disagreement, there was a lot of football watching and drinking.

Close friends of the brothers say the yelling was over the outcome of the Cowboys vs. Packers playoff game. A roommate separated the brothers but police say Justin came back and physically attacked his brother. That’s when police say Robert feared for his life and stabbed Justin.

Robert Lewis says he found Justin Boyer with multiple stab wounds at his front door. The stabbing happened across the street at Robert Boyer’s home. Friends say Justin was visiting from North Dakota.

Lewis says he can’t believe his neighbor was involved in this brother-on-brother fight.

“I’m passionate. I’m an Eagles fan and I’m passionate about my Eagles but to get to that level over a ballgame is just crazy. Unreal. Unbelievable,” said Lewis.

Officers ruled Robert Boyer acted in self-defense. Police sources say Justin suffers from a mental illness. Friends say the Cowboys loss triggered Justin’s rage.
