Golden Knights players thank fans at Fremont Street ceremony

It was the same Golden energy that inspired the team throughout the season that turned out in droves to Fremont Street Downtown for one final thank you.

Thousands of fans, some who only months ago never even considered watching a hockey game, now lifelong supporters.

“I just wanted to come out here in this beautiful weather and enjoy hockey. What is it, 107, 105 degrees? And we’re out here for hockey. This is Vegas,” said Golden Knights fan Andy Mench.

“We are here to thank you and salute you for making Las Vegas a wonderful place to live and work and play hockey. Thank you very much,” said Golden Knights general manager George McPhee.

But it was the players themselves who drew the largest applause.

Fifteen Golden Knights in attendance for the rally.

Two favorites, however, did not make the event: Deryk Engelland and Marc-Andre Fleury. The fans regardless appreciative, and already looking forward to next season.
