LVMPD: Person seen with mask and gun at Boulevard Mall arrested, gun found was a fake

At 11:39 p.m., Thursday night, the suspect has been arrested. The gun and mask have been recovered. According to LVMPD, the gun appears to be a fake.


LAS VEGAS (KSNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a person was seen with a gun at the Boulevard Mall.

Police say they received the call around 6:56 p.m., Thursday night.

According to police, there are no injured individuals and no reports of shots fired by the suspect.

According to LVMPD Deputy Chief Chris Jones, a video was obtained showing a person with a long gun, wearing a mask. Police conducted three searches and are unable to locate the individual at this time. Not an active shooter, no shots were fired and no citizens were injured. A tactical team and K9 are conducting another search.

The mall has been completely evacuated.

The UNLV Police Department sent a tweet to students alerting them to "avoid the area", police is responding to an incident at the Boulevard Mall."
