LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Controversial Henderson-based social media company Parler announced it had resumed operations Monday after it went offline last month.
The company said in a press release Monday that it's now "built on sustainable, independent technology and not reliant on so-called 'Big Tech' for its operations."
"Parler is being run by an experienced team and is here to stay," interim CEO Mark Meckler said in a release. "We will thrive as the premier social media platform dedicated to free speech, privacy and civil dialogue."
Parler says Meckler will guide the company through its relaunch and its search for a permanent CEO.
Amazon kicked Parler off its web-hosting service on Jan. 11. In court filings, it said the suspension was a "last resort" to block Parler from harboring violent plans to disrupt the presidential transition.
Parler's app was also removed from the Google and Apple app stores.
Former CEO John Matze said earlier this month he had been fired by the company's board, led by conservative donor Rebekah Mercer.
Parler lists a private mailbox at a Henderson printing and shipping store as its address in business registration filings.
