Henderson Hospital is a welcome addition to the neighborhood says one expectant mom News 3 spoke with.

"It's new, it's clean, and it's close to home so I don't have to be in pain longer," said Garcia.

The Maternity Ward is ready.

Henderson Hospital has already seen it's first surgical patient. Georgina Mateluna spent the night after having shoulder surgery in the brand new Operating Room.

CEO Sam Kaufman says the hospital is the 6th in southern Nevada operated b Valley Health System, but the first in Henderson.

"It's all about access," said Kaufman. "It's a bright new shiny penny, it is beautiful, state of the art. But the difference: the care we provide patients. That's what people want to see in the hospital."

Kaufman says there's even room to expand. Henderson Hospital currently operates with 130 beds, but the plan is to grow right along with the neighborhood.
