Henderson Police: Man arrested in Lake Las Vegas homicide

HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV) — A man has been arrested on suspicion of open murder after a woman was found dead in a Lake Las Vegas home in March, according to Henderson Police.

Firefighters and police officers responded to the 100 block of Caminito Amore on March 4 on a report of a 63-year-old woman who was unresponsive, police said in a statement.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified her as Karen Byer of Henderson.

The preliminary investigation indicated foul play was a factor, according to police, and the coroner's office ruled Byer's death a homicide last week.

Alan Sylwester, 62, was arrested on Tuesday, May 14, after an investigation, police said. No other details were released.
