High winds cause close calls and cancelled flights at McCarran Airport

Many flights had to make last-second adjustments before landing.

It was an adventure ride trying to land at McCarran International Airport. Hundreds of flights going in and out McCarran airport were impacted by the winds on Thursday, and many incoming flights had some close calls, having to make last-second adjustments before landing.

Several flights were either canceled or delayed. Many more had to abort landings.

One flight heading to Phoenix even had to come back.

McCarran officials say if you are heading to the airport today check your flight beforehand.
