Two hikers rescued after stranded overnight at Red Rock Canyon

UPDATE, May 2 | Two hikers stranded overnight have been rescued Wednesday morning at Red Rock.

A spokesman for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said search and rescue volunteers were able to locate them on the north side of Rainbow Mountain.

According to LVMPD, the two hikers reported they were low on food and water Tuesday night, and they did not have the right equipment for getting down the mountain.

Search and Rescue could not be sent for them Tuesday night due to their location and the weather, police said.

ORIGINAL | Two people are stranded in Juniper Canyon at Red Rock.

According to police, a man and woman in their thirties were reportedly stuck on the north side of Rainbow Mountain in Juniper Canyon.

Police say LVMPD's Search and Rescue team cannot respond due to the weather.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
