Pedestrian dies days after hit-and-run crash east of Strip
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
UPDATE, Aug. 27 | The pedestrian critically injured in a crash on Sunday, Aug. 19, has died, according to authorities.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say the coroner's office notified investigators on Monday, Aug. 27, that the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.
The death marks the 88th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction this year.
ORIGINAL | Authorities are looking for a sedan involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian with critical injuries late Sunday night.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, officers responded just before 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, on S. Maryland Parkway south of Dumont Boulevard.
Officers learned a pedestrian was walking north on Maryland in a southbound travel lane, outside of a marked crosswalk, when that person was hit by an unknown sedan.
The driver did not stay at the scene, instead driving away south on Maryland. The car was described as either a silver or white four-door sedan.
The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital, and he was last listed in critical condition, according to LVMPD.
