Man facing murder charges after shooting near Decatur, Oakey
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide in the west valley.
Arriving officers located an adult man in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation indicated the victim and another adult male were passing by a residence and became involved in an argument with several people.
The argument escalated and multiple people pulled out firearms and began shooting at each other. There were no reported injuries during the shootout however, multiple residences and vehicles were struck.
Shortly thereafter, the victim passed by the residence again and 28-year-old Gilberto Barrientos exited the home and shot the victim.
Barrientos was taken into custody and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he is currently being charged for Open Murder.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
