Fugitive in Houston murder case found, arrested in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
A 48-year-old man wanted for murder out of Houston was found and arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday, according to federal authorities.
The U.S. Marshals Service says Johnny Leon Wilson was wanted for the murder of his estranged wife, Charine Wilson, last year.
According to authorities, Charine Wilson was never seen alive after she visited her husband's apartment in November. Her body was found one month later in a ditch near Richland, Texas.
Investigators learned Johnny Wilson might have fled to Las Vegas, and the Marshals Fugitive Task Force found him using an alias at a hotel near Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street.
Wilson was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center, where he is awaiting extradition.
