ORIGINAL | A motorcyclist has been arrested after a collision with a car and a bicyclist resulted in the fifth traffic-related fatality for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department this year.

The LVMPD fatal detail says 35-year-old Las Vegas resident Daniel Althoff was arrested after his 2013 Triumph collided with a 2016 Nissan Sentra and a pedestrian about 12:15 a.m. Saturday at East Sahara Avenue and Fremont Street.

The initial accident report states the Triumph was traveling south on Fremont approaching East Sahara while a bicyclist was westbound across Fremont Street in a marked crosswalk.

The collision forced the bicyclist into the roadway and the side of the Sentra, which was westbound on Sahara.

The bicyclist, an unidentified Las Vegas man believed to be in his 50s, died at the scene.

Althoff was arrested for driving under the influence and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

A passenger on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Sentra was not injured.

The Clark County coroner's office will identify the bicyclist once relatives have been notified.
