LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The father of three year old Zaela Walker, who has been missing since August, appeared before a judge Tuesday morning for multiple charges including kidnapping, child abuse and neglect.
Ricky Beasley, 27, faced the judge in North Las Vegas Justice Court in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.
Court documents show Beasley, who was also reported missing in August, visited two states and another country over the last few months. Documents state Beasley was traveling in a car belonging to his mother with an unnamed associate. The two were reported in Tennessee and Arkansas and coming back from Mexico at the San Diego Boarder. The two were stopped by border patrol in San Diego and questioned about Zaela, but Beasley said she was with her mother.
The judge setting his bail at $500,000. An official complaint is expected to be filed Wednesday.
Beasley’s family was present in the courtroom but did not want to speak with News 3.
