For the first time in almost a decade, Congress has the opportunity to pass immigration reform through the budget reconciliation process and pave a pathway to citizens for 11-million undocumented people throughout the country.

17-year-old Nazareth Jimenez Garcia says it’s the right time.

“This is a perfect time right now because there are 50 democrats in the senate right now so as long as they vote yes with Kamala’s vote, the leader of the senate, and that will secure the votes we need and clear a pathway,” said Garcia.

It’s what then democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden promised. Here he is in 2020- outlining his immigration plans for his first 100 days in office.

President Joe Biden: “On day one, I’m gonna send a legislative reform bill to congress to provide a roadmap to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.”

10-year-old Delmy Barahona says her family believed him.

“My dad was campaigning around for the democratic side and look now. Nothing. No response and it hurts. It just hurts,” said the 5th grader.

Eleazar Castellanos has live in Las Vegas for over 21 years and is tired of not having the same rights as others.

He says not acting will hurt the democratic party’s reputation.

“Otherwise don’t look for us in the next election. Because I promise and I will tell my family and my community, don’t vote for those liars,” said Castellanos.

Here at home, we do know that democratic senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen have pushed President Biden on immigration reform.
