TODAY: Locals get in free at Mob Museum

Nevada residents can celebrate "Kefauver Day" with free admission to The Mob Museum on Thursday, Nov. 15.

The museum announced the celebration to mark the day a Senate hearing on organized crime took place in the museum's courtroom in 1950.

The hearings, led by Sen. Estes Kefauver of Tennessee, were televised across the country, and they brought organized crime into many Americans' living rooms for the first time.

Zappos is sponsoring the day's promotion, which also includes buy one admission, get one free for non-residents.

The museum's hours will also be extended, open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 15.
