LVMPD searching for 'Blue Bucket Bandit' who stole security cameras
Police are asking the public for help finding 41-year-old Russell Fowler, known as the "Blue Bucket Bandit." Fowler is accused of stealing security cameras from residences near West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Rampart Boulevard.
LVMPD says Fowler is seen in security footage using a blue bucket to reach the cameras, ripping them off and leaving the area.
LVMPD detectives began investigating the case after responding to a December 31 call, where a resident reported the theft of their surveillance camera. The victim was aware of several residents in the area who had been the victim of similar crimes.
Police also suspect Fowler in several package thefts in the area. He has been linked to at least nine events.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Russell Fowler, anyone with any information on any of these cases, or anyone who believes they may have been a victim but have yet to make a report, is urged to contact the Northwest Area Command Patrol Investigations Section at 702-828-8577.
