Man arrested, charged in stabbing death after joining argument in street

A 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon after a fight ended with a stabbing death in the northeast valley Monday evening.

Thomas Cash was arrested Tuesday and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Ezekiel Devine. His official cause of death was a stab wound to the chest and the manner was ruled a homicide.

At about 6:55 p.m. Monday, patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Pistachio Nut Avenue and Spruce Fern Lane (near Lamb and Craig) where a man had been stabbed. Officers found an unresponsive man lying in the street and medical personnel pronounced him dead.

The investigation initiated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section indicated that two individuals were arguing in the street. During this argument, Cash came out of his home and got into a physical altercation with one of the individuals. Once the physical altercation began, the victim got involved in the fight. During the struggle, the victim was stabbed by Cash.
