
Las Vegas (KSNV) — One person is dead and another is behind bars after police say a man shot at a pair of robbery suspects during an attempted robbery last summer.
The incident occurred just before midnight on August 13, 2022, at a parking lot near Nellis Blvd and Vegas Valley Drive.
According to police, the victim was contacted by an unknown person on Snapchat regarding purchasing marijuana. The two planned to meet near the 2800 block of S Nellis Blvd.
The victim told detectives that two men, identified as Timothy Dabney and Alfredo Gustodio,arrived at the arranged location and a struggle broke out between the three after the two men tried to rob the man.
An investigation found that the victim, who was not identified in the report, shot at Dabney, who would later succumb to his injuries and be pronounced dead two days later on August 15. A final ruling indicated that the victim acted in self-defense and no charges were filed.

It was also found that during the attempted robbery,Gustodio had shot at the victim eight times, causing injury to his left chest, upper left arm, left thigh, and left foot.
Court records show a warrant was issued forGustodio's arrested on June 27, 2023. He would be taken into custody a month later on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Gustodio is currently facing one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, one count of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
He remains in custody as of Monday under $25,000 bail and is set to return to court on August 14.
