Father charged with kidnapping, child abuse and neglect in case of missing 3-year-old

The father of missing 3-year-old Zaela Walker has been arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping and child abuse or neglect and is in custody.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on charges related to a 3-year-old who has been missing since August.

Ricky Beasley faces charges of kidnapping and child abuse or neglect. His daughter Zaela Walker has been missing since late August.

The search continues for Zaela, who has still not been found, and police are looking for the public's help solving the case.

On Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, North Las Vegas police officers in responded to reports of a missing 3-year-old girl at a residence on Mission Cantina Avenue, near Loan Mountain Road and 5th Street. Police discovered that 3-year-old Zaela Walker was last seen with her parents, 27-year-old Lakeia Walker and 27-year-old Ricky Beasley North Las Vegas.

Detectives placed the three missing persons' names into the national database in an attempt to locate the family. After several months, Detectives received word the parents were located.

On Saturday, November 17, 2018, Texas Department of Public Safety Officers came into contact with Lakeia and Ricky, who did not have custody of Zaela. Both claimed to have no knowledge of Zaela’s whereabouts and became uncooperative.

Beasley has since been arrested. Lakeia Walker is reportedly cooperating with police. Police did confirm that although Lakeia went willing-fully with Ricky, he was controlling and there is a history of domestic issues between the two.

Detectives are seeking any information on the whereabouts of Zaela and are hopeful Zaela was left with an unknown associate of Lakeia and Ricky in the Las Vegas Valley. Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department immediately at 702-633-9111.
