A two-year-old boy is home safe after being taken from his mother.

Investigators say there was a domestic disturbance on Tuesday night at an apartment complex located in the 2800 block of S. Decatur Boulevard near Sahara Avenue.

The suspect, Amir Abdul-Rahim, reportedly arrived at the apartment just before 10 p.m. where his 2-year-old son lives with his mother.

A neighbor attempted to intervene in the disturbance and was shot multiple times by Amir. Amir then fled the scene with the child in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Patriot.

On Wednesday morning, investigators say 2-year-old Kuwait Abdul-Rahim was returned home.

Investigators say he was brought home by a friend of the mother but would not say how they received the child.

The father, Amir Abdul-Rahim is still on the run.

Detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating him.

Amir is 26-years-old, 6'3", 165 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair.

Amir should be considered armed and dangerous, so if they are seen, do not approach but call 911 immediately.
