Metro Search & Rescue finds body in east valley while looking for hikers


A man's body was found by Search & Rescue officers on Frenchman Mountain about 3:10 p.m. Thursday.

Officers located the deceased adult male and observed that he had numerous injuries. It was determined that the death was suspicious and detectives were contacted.

The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated that the victim suffered from gunshot and stab wounds. Evidence at the scene suggests the victim had been there for at least 24 hours.

The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. As of this release, detectives have not identified a motive and no suspects have been identified.
