Missing or Murdered? Las Vegas father desperate for answers about his son
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
He should have been celebrating his 26th birthday.
Instead, what happened to Terran Olson-Carlisle remains a mystery nearly a year after he went missing.
Olson-Carlisle vanished from Las Vegas, leaving very few clues.
Detectives are confident someone has the information they need. A piece of surveillance video could hold the key to what happened.
Peter Ladner said he is desperate to know whether his only child was murdered.
“It’s very tough. You know?” said Peter Ladner. “It's my only child. Awesome kid, with an infectious laugh.”
Ladner says the not knowing has been a nightmare. He admits, he fears the worst.
“I fear that he's gone. That I'll never see him again,” he explained.
Police say DNA evidence may provide them with answers. Detectives are focused on what could be the most important part of the case.
Surveillance video from March of 2017 shows a dark SUV pull up to a parking lot near Buffalo and Flamingo. In the video, you can see two men dump a bag into a dumpster.
Homicide Lt. Dan McGrath said detectives found Olson-Carlisle’s clothes and blood inside the bag.
“It's very suspicious,” said Lt. Dan McGrath. “Our intention is to try and find out what happened to this young man.”
“We believe he's most likely dead. So we don't know if it could be a murder,” he continued.
Ladner is convinced someone knows exactly what happened to his son. He’s afraid the answer will break his heart.
“The loss of my best friend. It's tough, you know? I spent last week preparing for a memorial service that might come. I shouldn't have to do that,” he said.
