During the continuance of her preliminary hearing Thursday morning, Roshaun Malone did not testify.

Thursday, a judge decided that she will go to trial for child abuse and kidnapping charges linked to the death of her son, despite her attorney's attempt to have the kidnapping charges dropped.

Malone was arrested following the beating death of her 7-year-old son, Richard Findley Junior on October 30. She was initially facing a murder charge linked to the boy's death, but that charge was dropped during the first part of her preliminary hearing Wednesday afternoon.

According to prosecutors, Findley Junior was tied up and beaten so severely that his intestines ruptured. Police say the beating was carried out by Malone's roommate Kenneth Robinson.

The judge did grant Malone bail at $75,000 with house arrest and limited, supervised contact with her other children.

Findley Junior's battered body was discovered at the Budget Suites at Boulder Highway and Flamingo. Almost immediately, Robinson was taken into custody.

It wasn't until after an autopsy was complete that police arrested Malone as well. Prosecutors say she is the one who tied up her son.
