Motorcyclist killed after crash with SUV near Bermuda and Windmill

A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening after a two-vehicle crash in the south-central Las Vegas valley.

The crash occurred just before 7:20 p.m. near East Windmill Lane and Bermuda Road, according to Lt. Grant Rogers of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The victim, identified as Donald Wayne Miller III, 20, of Henderson, died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, James Vermillion, 34, of Henderson, was transported to UMC Trauma with serious head and facial injuries. He was later booked in absentia for DUI resulting in death.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Miller's official cause of death was blunt force injuries and the manner was ruled an accident.

This is the 54th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2017. This case remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
