Union officials have reached an agreement on a five-year contract with employees at the Stratosphere Las Vegas.

A spokeswoman for Culinary Union 226 said in a statement early Wednesday morning that the agreement followed 16 straight hours of negotiations.

About 1,300 employees will be covered under the new contract, spokeswoman Bethany Khan said.

Negotiations are still ongoing with 15 other casino-resorts on the Strip and in downtown Las Vegas after contracts expired at the start of June, with about 8,700 workers still affected. Talks are scheduled for Wednesday with Westgate Las Vegas, according to Khan.

The Culinary Union has already reached agreements on new contracts with resort-hotels belonging to MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment.
