Two calls came into the 911 dispatch center within a minute, one about a shooting and another about a stabbing, according to Metro Lt. Dan McGrath.

One person was killed and four people were wounded early today in at least two crime scenes in the east valley.

Metro told News 3 that one person was found deceased in a car near East Sahara and South Sloan Lane about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Another person was in critical condition and two more suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. A fifth person suffered stab wounds.

In a text, the Metro watch commander said, "this is a complex event involving multiple locations. The investigation has just began. What we have at this point are two separate groups that were involved in a confrontation. There was an exchange of gunfire that resulted in four subjects shot. There was another subject who was stabbed. Both groups left the location of occurrence and went to separate locations and called police."
