One injured following shooting at UNLV student housing complex
Las Vegas (KSNV) — One person is in the hospital following an overnight shooting at an on-campus UNLV student apartment building.
According to Todd Miller with UNLV Campus Police, a party was being held on the 5th floor of The Degree, located near Maryland and Flamingo, just before midnight.
During that time, one person shot a gun in the hallway, striking someone else. The person injured was taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The unidentified suspect fled the scene in a white vehicle, police say.

In a separate update on social media, University Police Services describe the suspect as a black male wearing black clothing.
Students received text messages regarding the incident, prompting everyone in the area to shelter in place at around 12:30 AM Sunday.
Police later lifted the shelter in place around 2 AM because the suspect appeared to have fled the scene.
